A report by Jürgen Seidler:

This was a very intense week, which ended on Saturday 9th of March 2019. We discussed our experiences in working and communicating from our different cultural backgrounds. During the last month several versions of the scripts were sent back and forth guided by feedbacks from our mentors. During the Accra week strength and weaknesses of those scripts were discussed in details.

The overall concepts of the series was in the focus of various meetings. With the choice of Joel Tugaineyo from Kampala as the show runner of the series the concept discussion became a clear and convincing direction.

On the Independence Day of Ghana , March 6th, we visited possible shooting locations of villages on our way to Cape Coast, where we had the chance to discover Kakum Park, a canopy walk through the treetops of the rainforest. On Saturday we went on a second location tour in Eastern Region / Ghana.

Friday 5th of March we were guest at the NAFTI film studio. A warm welcome from NAFTI director Dr. Samuel Nai opened the session. After a key note from me, two famous directors from Ghana, Ivan Quashigah and Peter Sedufia discussed with Katharina Tebroke from dffb about their experiences with movies and series productions.

We used the opportunity to introduce our Fresh Craft program in front of numerous students from NAFTI and invited them to join our production teams.

During our week the group of participants selected three directors to shoot the series: Lisa Hürtgen from dffb, Ransford Nii Ayi Aryee and Khalid Iddisah from NAFTI, Cecilia Oppong-Badu as producer and Christiana Pokuah Asiedu as production manager will oversee the production – also both from NAFTI.

The production is scheduled for August 2019. We are all very much looking forward to step into production with this exiting series.
