“Fresh Craft” is an intercultural training programme for TV series launched by the German Film – and TV Academy Berlin (dffb) with the African film schools Maisha Film Lab, Uganda and NAFTI, Ghana. This programme focuses on the development, the production and marketing of a web series with the participation of students of all fields of study from all three institutions. The participants will be trained to develop and produce series on their own in collaboration with African partners.

The project is funded by the The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), handled in cooperation with DW Akademie.

In a first step two script development workshops will take place, one in Kampala, Uganda (19. – 30. November 2018) and one in Accra, Ghana (March 2019). Students will work in Writer’s Rooms and workshops creating ideas and develop scripts.

Production is scheduled for summer 2019, post production for winter 2019 in Berlin.

Head of programme is Jürgen Seidler, writer and producer and lecturer at dffb. Further lecturers from Uganda, Ghana, South Africa and Germany will accompany the programme.
